FALL WINTER 2024
FALL WINTER 2024
Amidst the ruins of the noble Doria Castle in Sardinia, with its past as a medieval fortress and later an ancient church, unfolds the story of an extraordinary woman: an independent queen, an enlightened Judge, Eleonora D'Arborea. She was the only ruler capable of uniting the diverse and fragmented Sardinian populations under a single 'nation.' Eleonora, the last indigenous ruler of the island, who lived between the second half of the 1300s and the first half of the 1400s, is the protagonist of a regal and personal narrative that inspired the new Antonio Marras Fall Winter 2024 collection.
The figure of Judge Eleonora d'Arborea is shrouded in mystery, but her name remains linked to the Carta de Logu, the extraordinary legal text written in the Sardinian language containing the civil and criminal laws valid in the Kingdom of Arborea, which remained in force until 1827. The Carta de Logu was an extremely revolutionary document for its time, still considered relevant today, as it advanced the role of women in society with remarkable progressiveness.
The black Vetra sweater, adorned with luminous appliqués, embodies a perfect balance between punk spirit and sophistication. Crafted from refined fabrics, it combines sparkling details with the enveloping luxury of warm and soft textures.
Sophisticated romanticism takes shape with the black and red checked double-breasted coat. Embellished with luxurious Kalgan fur sleeves, this coat creates a unique tactile and visual effect, further enhanced by floral accents.
For her, high-waisted palazzo trousers, embellished with asymmetrical floral-textured gavoi, express a sophisticated and natural femininity.
For him, suits in shades of grey with soft, light lines embody a distinctive elegance.
Kimonos with fluid lines and shirts with tailored details blend harmoniously with contemporary cuts, revealing an eternal beauty.
Coated genderless jeans for those who refuse to be confined by labels, designed to be worn by both men and women. The fabric, in blue with chalk brushstrokes, creates a camouflage effect that highlights a deep connection with nature.
One envisions horses, centuries-old olive trees, wild meadows, and ruins of a golden era, with figures in the background that seem to be painted by a pointillist artist. Maxi light leather bags enrich the looks, offering an elegant and contemporary contrast.
Flowing dresses, unisex sweatshirts adorned with floral embroidery, a special symbol of Antonio Marras, and red and black tartan kilts with handcrafted patchwork as unique, precious pieces. Lines and volumes interact with the landscape, giving life to a collection that navigates between history and modernity.
A recurring symbol in the narrative is Eleonora's Falcon, the winged reflection of the Judge. A romantic story unfolds, telling of a special bond between Eleonora and her falconer, a journey through time that reveals the importance of this ancient art in the fabric of her life.
