TRAVEL JOURNAL: SARDINIA
The Antonio Marras Spring Summer 2026 Fashion Show comes to life as a journey intertwining literature, art, and fashion. Inspired by the Sardinian stay of D.H. Lawrence and Frieda von Richthofen, together with Katherine Mansfield and the Bloomsbury Group, the collection tells of the allure of Alghero—a place of the soul and earthly paradise where creativity and beauty are rediscovered.
The narrative unfolds through garments that speak of encounters and departures, in a palette of soft, whispered shades: lilac, pink, gold, ecru, chocolate, plum, powder, and copper. Fabrics such as jacquard, damask, lace, denim, and leather converse with embroidery, patchwork, and inlays evoking watercolors. Lines overlap and intertwine: fluid and flowing, or androgynous and structured. Hollywood-diva robes alternate with masculine suits, cocktail dresses, and pajama sets, in a continuous play of contrasts and stylistic short circuits.
Symbolizing roots and love is the Sardinian shepherd, who—through his choice to defend the land from external pressures—embodies profound values of connection to origins. A gesture that represents us, a story that belongs to us. At the same time, the show features original pieces of traditional Sardinian costumes, too beautiful to be reinterpreted and too important not to be shared: because beauty belongs to everyone, and everyone must be its beneficiary.

A special thanks to Giuseppe Ignazio Loi, who not only took part in this fashion show but also brings his story to the big screen with the film “La vita va così” by Riccardo Milani, the opening film of the 20th Rome Film Festival and set for release in theaters on October 23, 2025.
